Pirin Training Camp 2007

The Pirin Mountains, Bulgaria

22 August – 3 September 2007

The Pirin Training Camp was a self-organised sports camp held at a place called Popovi livadi in the Pirin Mountains in Bulgaria from the 22nd of August till the 3rd of September 2007.

The Pirin Mountains are known as the Green West Corner of Bulgaria. During the camp, I stayed at my grandparents’ mountain house and trained around this area surrounded by magnificent nature. It is a very familiar place where I spent many of my summer holidays as a child. In this camp, I trained together with a gymnastics teammate from my club Levski GC. Some of my most famous gymnastics photos were taken in this training camp, including the Iron L-cross on rings with trees in the background. My motto was “Train hard, believe in yourself, and never give up!”, and I vividly remember training again and again and again, all the time, during day and even nights as you will see from the video above (released in March 2009) and the Gallery below.
