Advanced Gymnastics Lessons for Children
Advanced Gymnastics Lessons
Throughout the years, I worked in Bulgaria (at the Levski Gymnastics Club, between 2008 and 2012) and in the UK (at the Elite Gymnastics Academy CIC, between 2013 and 2020), and I coached hundreds of children, many of whom took part in gymnastics competitions. With passion for gymnastics and lots of hard work, many of my gymnasts won certificates and medals (like Matthew and Fergus on the photo above) from club, regional and national gymnastics competitions in Bulgaria and the UK. A special section of my website has been dedicated to our events and performances, and you can access it by clicking here. During this time, I also started building my personal gymnastics training business, STK Sport, and I am now running my own coaching services for private clients and schools here in London.
In addition to my personal gymnastics lessons for beginners, I also provide gymnastics lessons for advanced children in the comfort of your home/garden. These lessons will complement their training in the gymnastics centre, and they are perfect for children who need to improve their strength and flexibility. Additionally, I am in the position to provide you with a health-related phyical fitness assessment for your athlete/athletes, which includes a full report on their current fitness level, percent body fat, lean body mass, etc.
Moments of a Lifetime
I am grateful that I have had the chance to teach so many children and to provide them with the skills and knowledge that I had learned as a gymnast, but also I had the chance to learn from them and to develop as a gymnastics coach, personal trainer, and to be the person that I am today. THANK YOU!
This is my gymnast David on Parallel Bars
In the video above you can watch one of my best gymnasts, David, performing his gymnastics routine on Parallel bars at the 2012 Bulgarian Gymnastics Championships. David won the silver medal in this National competition, and became the Parallel Bars Vice-Champion of Bulgaria at the age of 7. This was a huge success as he competed with more than 100 other gymnasts from the best gymnastics clubs in Bulgaria at the age category between 7 and 10 years.

Amongst the all lovely presents that I have received by my gymnasts and their parents, the cup 'I Love My Coach' given by David Shaumian, age of 8, and parents (Dessy & Erik) has become the greatest one ever. At the age of 7, David won a silver medal from the 2012 Bulgarian Gymnastics Championships. He performed an astonishing routine on Parallel bars and became a Vice-Champion with score of 19.600, just 0.1 after the gold medalist. It is a remarkable success as the competition for his age group (Boys Under the age of 10) included around 100 of the best gymnasts from all over the country. I would like to say Thank you so much to my best gymnast David and his lovely family for their dedication, care and love through all these years! Sofia, Bulgaria, 2012

And here it is... my last event at Levski GC, the club I grew up, and the club I coached for 5 years. This event was very special for me and I believe for many of the gymnasts and parents too. For a second year, I organised the Gymnastics Show in which parents have the chance to see their children performing gymnastics for fun, without the stress from competitions, as well as a chance to learn about the findings of my study (as part of my Master's degree) on physical development and nutrition of young gymnasts. It was also the last sports event for me, as I was about to move to the UK.
'Dear parents, gymnasts and colleagues, as you may already know, I am moving to London, therefore I would like to say thank you so much for being not just clients, but friends, good friends and I feel many of you as a family. I know I will miss you very much, that's why I have done my best to make you love this sport the way that I do. It has been all done for you, for your children, for us, to remember and be proud of what has been achieved.'
Yours in Sport , coach Stefan Kolimechkov
In December 2012, in my last year at the Levski GC, Mr Prodanov (president of Levski GC & ex-president of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation) and Mrs Stanka Pavlova (honorary national coach & Sports Director of Levski GC) gave me a special award for outstanding contribution to the club and the local community. I had a fantastic time in the club, coaching gymnastics while studying for my Bachelor's and Masters degrees at the National Sports Academy in Bulgaria. During these 5 years (2008-2012) I was mentored by university experts in gymnastics and sports science, as well as one of the best gymnastics coaches in the country, Mr Pandezov and Mrs Pavlova.
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM
Coming to London was one of my life time goals, so I planned everything in advance and secured a position in a gymnastics club way before travelling. The club was called Elite Gymnastics (later renamed Elite Gymnastics Academy CIC, or just Elite GA), based in Edmonton, North London. I coached boys and girls in pre-school, general, and artistic gymnastics at this club from 2013 to 2020, and I also competed as a gymnast, winning 3 London Rings Gold medals, and multiple other medals from gymnastics competitions for master athletes. From 2015 to 2018, I was also working as a gymnastics coach at the local school, St Edmund's Primary School.

At the end of 2020, I took the decision to leave my role at the Elite Gymnastics Academy in order to concentrate on my passions in life (involvement in scientific research in the UK, and building up my personal training consultancy business). Thank you to Olga Berzing, the manager of the Elite GA, for the opportunities I had at her club, to learn and grow as a gymnastics coach.
Overall, as a gymnast, I represented the Elite GA in 15 competitions, (4 internationals, 4 regionals, and 7 for masters athletes), ranked 14th at the International Men's London Open in 2013 and 2016, and won 3 gold medals at the London Championships in 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as multiple medals from gymnastics competitions for master athletes in England. As a coach, I contributed to the development of children involved in pre-school, general, and women's artistic gymnastics, and the gymnasts from my boy's squads won multiple medals at club and regional artistic gymnastics competitions. I also performed gymnastics together with my student from the Elite GA on multiple occasions in order to popularise our sport at schools and sports centers. Perhaps, the top achievements in our gymnastics competitions were made by Blake (Vault Champion in London at the NDP Artistic Gymnastics Club Grades in 2014) and Fergus (Floor Champion in London at the NDP Artistic Gymnastics Club Grades in 2014, and Floor and Vault Champion in London at the 2017 London Artistic Gymnastics Championships).
